JANUARY 19, 2008:  Belated Happy New Year!
Belated Happy New Year!  Although nothing has really gone on with Sin Embargo & Las Drogas since early 2006, Kyle has remained active with "the 77s" despite a couple of personnel changes in late 2007.  Kyle also continues to get settled in as the Sunday Painters' new bass player, and is continuing to work on several more recording projects at his "El Ojo" studio.  Kyle and his fiancee Tricia are also busy with wedding preparations for the next 6 months or so as well.   Kyle & Eric have expressed their interest in perhaps resurrecting some form of Las Drogas and/or Sin Embargo later this year, but nothing's definitely set in stone yet.  Keep checking back here for the latest!

DECEMBER 18, 2007:  Happy Birthday Jason Hofer!
Former Sin Embargo drummer Jason Hofer turns 35 today, so "happy birthday" to him!

OCTOBER 15, 2007:  Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen...
Congratulations to long-time bachelor Kyle/KK Dirty Money and his girlfriend Tricia who got engaged over this past weekend!  The wedding is scheduled for June 2008 in Mt Pleasant with Eric, 77s/Mazinga drummer Alex King, and former SE drummer Ed Stark reportedly slotted for groomsmen positions...

SEPTEMBER 30, 2007:  Kyle joins "the Sunday Painters"
Earlier this month, Kyle joined the established Detroit area band "the Sunday Painters" as their new bass player.  Kyle felt like fulfilling a different musical role in a band (i.e. not the "frontman") so he auditioned for the Sunday Painters' open bass position a few weeks back and ended up getting selected.  Check out the Sunday Painters' website and MySpace page to read all about them!

SEPTEMBER 10, 2007:  Happy Birthday Eric!
Eric turns 33 today, so "happy birthday" to him!

AUGUST 24, 2007:  Happy Birthday Eddiebaby!
Former SE drummer Ed Stark turns 35 today, so "happy birthday" to him!

AUGUST 10, 2007:  Kyle hits the big 3-0 !
Kyle "KK Dirty Money" Kipp turns 30 today, so "happy birthday" to him !

AUGUST 5, 2007:  Kyle & Eric repeat what they did last year and perform brief set at family reunion...
Much like what went down a year ago, Kyle & Eric had a "pseudo-Sin Embargo reunion" and broke out a few Las Drogas/77s/Sin Embargo/Dirty Money numbers and cover tunes at a mid-summer family reunion in Harper Woods yesterday.  Kyle & Eric's 12-year-old 2nd cousin Mike Valenti sat in on drums throughout the roughly 30 minute set.  Too bad Mike lives so far away from Kyle & Eric because he's already a great drummer at such a young age!  Since the set was not rehearsed beforehand with Mike, it was a bit loose, but it was still great to get up and play for a bit.

JULY 21, 2007:  Approximately 15 years ago this week....
This week marks the 15-year anniversary of the beginnings of Sin Embargo.  Kyle (guitar), Justin Pasquale (guitar), and Eric (bass) began jamming together in Kyle's bedroom in Lapeer on this week in 1992.  Although no drummer was around at the time, the first few songs of SE's catalogue began to take shape.  And, as they say, a lot of shit has happened since then... Or, more precisely: about 170 gigs across lower Michigan, 35 original songs recorded over 4 studio albums, 7 drummers, and a bunch of interesting people & adventures along the way!

MAY 17, 2007:  Happy Birthday Nevada Parsons!
Former Sin Embargo & Las Drogas drummer Sierra Nevada Parsons turns 24 today, so "happy birthday" to her!

APRIL 10, 2007:  The Sin Embargo Website celebrates 10 years on-line !
It's hard to believe, but it was 10 years ago today that the current SE website was launched.  Although band activities and website updates have fallen off over the past couple years, the fact that it still remains on-line after all this time is still an accomplishment.  With any luck, things will pick up again later this year... stay tuned!

MARCH 10, 2007:  Another little update...
Hello to all... As you may have guessed, it's been pretty quiet on the Sin Embargo & Las Drogas fronts the past few months.  Kyle has been busy playing many gigs with "the 77s", as well as working on some new 77s recordings in his studio.  Eric's been occupied with the usual grind of work and family obligations (his daughter Kayla is almost 1 already!), so band activities are few and far between at this time.  However, Kyle & Eric have talked about resurrecting Las Drogas in some form - most likely with Kyle on guitar/vocals & Eric on drums... picking up where they left off about a year ago.  The idea of also doing a one-off reunion with Jason Hofer later this year to celebrate Sin Embargo's 15th anniversary may also come to fruition, but nothing has been worked out with this yet.  It must also be noted that the Official Sin Embargo Website will be observing its 10th anniversary next month!  That's about it for now... as always, you can keep checking back here for the latest on Sin Embargo & Las Drogas.... Till next time, Eric & Kyle.
