"Las Drogas" is a swaggering, woozy power trio based out of Ypsilanti, Michigan that specializes in stompin' and swamp-tastic proto-punk that's heavily influenced by the primitive roots of greasy rock n' roll that goes way back to the 1950's and 1960's. Their catchy sound is like the White Stripes mashed with Jerry Lee Lewis.

BACK STORY...

Although Las Drogas has existed in some form or another since 2003, its constant core member has always been guitarist/front man Kyle "KK Dirty Money" Kipp. Kyle is also known for playing with several other bands from the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor music scene over the years, such as "Black Jake & the Carnies", "The Devil Elvis Show", "Gruesome Twosome", "ELECTROMAGS", "the Ungodly 77's", "Mercury Salad (Sandwich)", "The Sunday Painters", and others. While several other talented backing musicians have come and gone from Las Drogas over the years, current drummer and Ohio native Bryan King joined up in September 2018, followed shortly after by Kyle's brother Eric "Greezy E" Kipp being added on bass guitar in November 2018. Kyle & Eric also played together throughout southeastern Michigan for 20+ years in the band " Sin Embargo ".

Las Drogas has recorded and released several original songs over the years on the band's own indie label "El Ojo". Popular crowd-pleasing tunes such as "Back & Sides", "Run Outta Town", and "You Owe Me Money", written primarily by Kyle, always seem to get strong and favorable crowd reactions. The band also dredges up and puts their own unique spin on several moldy oldies-but-goodies for novel and kitchy cover tunes.
