I just ran into this newsgroup and find it interesting! I would have loved to have known of such a newsgroup when I was younger. (I'm still not old, but am a college-veteran now.) Anyways, I wanted to let you all know about a newsletter I work on. It is called the Amateur Computerist Newsletter and is a combination of articles by and about people who love computers for what they are, and a spirit of the labor movement. We currently have two recent issues. Issue 4-4 is a normal issue with topics such as the possible impact of technology on the far future (say 200 years) and some history, etc. The latest issue, 4-5, is a special supplement about Usenet News. Both issues are available by either anonymous ftp to wuarchive.wustl.edu in the directory or my email a request to me at hau...@columbia.edu In addition we have another newsgroup, the alt.amateur-comp to discuss the newsletter and other related topics. We also appreciate submissions. Any submissions are welcome either posted to the alt.amateur-comp newsgroup or in email to me and au...@cleveland.freenet.edu or through snail-mail. Hopefully the newsletter proves interesting to some of you, :-) -Michael Hauben ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Michael Hauben CC '95 | Write ME for the NEW Amateur Computerist | | hau...@cunixf.cc.columbia.edu | Special Supplement on Usenet News called | | am...@cleveland.freenet.edu | "The Wonderful World of Usenet News" |
